AI editing, explained.
Is CutQuill free, and do exports have a watermark?
Yes. Free includes manual editing, captions, watermark-free exports up to 1080p, 3 server exports per calendar month, 500 MB of storage and 3 saved account backups. No payment card is required. AI features and narrated website demos require Pro.
How does AI video editing work?
With Pro, import your sources and describe the video you want. CutQuill can suggest an editable first cut and revise it from written instructions. You can trim or rearrange scenes, lock moments to protect them from AI revisions, and review the result before exporting. AI features depend on provider availability.
Can I add captions and edit a video from its transcript?
You can edit captions manually and import SRT or WebVTT subtitles. Pro adds timestamped transcription and editing from transcript words, including pause and filler removal. Review generated transcripts before publishing.
What video formats and lengths can I export?
Finished videos can be up to 3 minutes. Native exports use H.264 video and AAC audio in an MP4 file, up to 1080p without a CutQuill watermark. Choose portrait 9:16 for Reels or Shorts, square 1:1, or landscape 16:9. The browser export fallback uses a format supported by your browser and may have lower quality.
