Questions about CutQuill
What is CutQuill?
CutQuill is a browser-based video editor for short videos. Import video, images and audio, trim and rearrange scenes, add captions and titles, and export without a CutQuill watermark. Pro adds AI-assisted first cuts, revisions, transcription and narrated website walkthroughs.
Is CutQuill free, and do exports have a watermark?
Yes. Free includes manual editing, captions, watermark-free exports up to 1080p, 3 server exports per calendar month, 500 MB of storage and 3 saved account backups. No payment card is required. AI features and narrated website demos require Pro.
How does AI video editing work?
With Pro, import your sources and describe the video you want. CutQuill can suggest an editable first cut and revise it from written instructions. You can trim or rearrange scenes, lock moments to protect them from AI revisions, and review the result before exporting. AI features depend on provider availability.
Can CutQuill turn a website into a narrated video?
Yes. With Pro, open Website demo in the editor, enter a public website URL, and describe your guide or demo. CutQuill records a walkthrough with up to six scenes. Review the scenes, edit the script, generate synced AI voice narration, then download an MP4 or continue editing. Some websites restrict automated capture.
Can I add captions and edit a video from its transcript?
You can edit captions manually and import SRT or WebVTT subtitles. Pro adds timestamped transcription and editing from transcript words, including pause and filler removal. Review generated transcripts before publishing.
What video formats and lengths can I export?
Finished videos can be up to 3 minutes. Native exports use H.264 video and AAC audio in an MP4 file, up to 1080p without a CutQuill watermark. Choose portrait 9:16 for Reels or Shorts, square 1:1, or landscape 16:9. The browser export fallback uses a format supported by your browser and may have lower quality.
Where can I import footage from?
Upload video, audio and images from your device, import a YouTube video URL, or use Google Drive and OneDrive shared links or connected-account file browsing. Only import content you own or have permission to use. Supported playback depends on the source media.
How much does CutQuill Pro cost?
Pro costs US$9 per month or US$90 per year paid upfront, including applicable taxes. It includes 30 AI actions and 50 server exports per calendar month, 5 GB of storage and 100 saved account backups. There are no automatic overage charges. Cancel in Plan & billing; access continues until the paid period ends.
